Nail
clippers - A dogs nails are very important. If they are not
clipped regularly they will grow and curl. Then they will have to be cut back
beyond the quick, which will bleed, until they lay flat with the foot.
Dogs can go crippled from this.
Styptic
Powder - Styptic, is to stop bleeding if the quick is cut when dogs nails
are being clipped. accidents happen when dogs move so always have it there with
you first before you start.
Flea
Comb - To clean out the corners of the eyes of long haired dogs. If left
the corner of the eyes can build up bacteria and create sores.
Open Tooth Comb - One of many combs used for long haired
dogs.
Poodle Comb - Large, long tooth comb for large, long
haired dogs and poodles. Is very useful for larger breed dogs.
Greyhound Comb - Smaller version of the poodle comb very
useful in many sizes. We use five different sizes here.
Slicker
Brush - To loosen the dogs coat before combing and finishing. Not
recommended if you want to keep your dog in a long coat, it strips the hair. But
good for full-coated dogs at removing undercoat. Be careful the wire brush
is sharp and can hurt the dog.
Pin
Brush - A better brush for long haired dogs being brushed regularly. It
is safer to use on the dog, but not as strong as the slicker.
Ear
Cleaner - Cleaning of your dogs ears should be done
regularly. You do not have to go deep in the ear, but wipe the inside flap good
where odor builds up
Coat
Conditioner - A good conditioning spray on the dogs coat is always a good
thing to do before combing out the coat. It refreshes the hair, makes it easier
to comb, reconditions the coat and helps it smell good.
